I’m an artist from Tegus. I live in a place called New Haven right now. It’s in the northeast of the United States. I have lived in different parts of this country for the last ten years. I’m making my way home. I write stories and make art about the places and people I belong to.
Libertad, my debut novel, was awarded the Pura Belpré Honor by the American Library Association, the International Literacy Award, and the Américas Award. It was named a best book of 2024 by Kirkus Review, Publishers Weekly, Chicago Public Library, among others. I’m very proud of it, and, inevitably, a very different person from the version of me who wrote it.
